The Associate Dean for Research (ADR) leads the School’s research agenda, consistent with the University’s place among the nation’s most prestigious Universities in the American Association of Universities (AAU). The ADR’s primary responsibility is to promote the highest levels of research excellence. To achieve this goal, the ADR develops and implements programs and initiatives to raise the School’s research profile, increases the School’s research funding levels, and enhances the School’s scholarly productivity. In addition, the ADR coordinates the research activities for the School by identifying research opportunities, communicating the School's research capabilities to external constituencies, mentoring new faculty in establishing research programs, fostering an inclusive research environment, facilitating research initiatives, assembling collaborative teams, cultivating team leaders, interacting with research sponsors, and promoting the research and scholarly advancement of the School of Engineering faculty, research staff, and students.
