On Campus Interviews
During the fall and spring semesters, employers visit campus to
interview students for job, internship, and co-op positions.
Registered students utilize the KU web based Career Connections
system to request and schedule interviews. There is a small
one-time registration fee.
When do On Campus Interviews start?
Students planning to participate in on campus interviews are
strongly encouraged to register and start requesting interviews by
the middle of September. Some companies only visit campus in the
fall; they start interviewing in late September and have already
made job and internship offers to students by October.
How does the On Campus Interviewing Process work?
-
Employers contact KU to schedule an on campus interview date.
-
Employers also provide job descriptions for the job, internship,
or co-op positions they plan to interview for.
-
Students register with the Engineering Career Center; then load
their resume(s) and profile information into the Career
Connections system.
-
Students search the Career Connections system for job
descriptions or employers of interest
-
Students choose positions that align with their qualifications
as well as interests and apply before the deadline date
(deadline dates are usually two weeks prior to the interview
date).
-
The students' resumes are forwarded to the employers for review,
who then select which students they would like to interview.
-
Students log into the Career Connections system on a regular
basis to check the status of their interview requests.
-
Students who are invited to interview can view the available
interview time slots through the Career Connections system and
sign up for a convenient interview time.
-
Students, who are chosen as alternates or not initially invited
to interview, may want to contact the Engineering Career Center
for other possible ways to connect with that employer.
