What can you do if your personal laptop dies?

While we cannot provide direct support to your warranty or non-warranty laptop we are happy to help you troubleshoot the problem. If your personal laptop is not working feel free to stop by our office and speak with any of our techs. We can help you with many of your problems, but there are some things you should be aware of:

If you send your laptop off for RMA they will usually wipe the disk, so you want to make sure that you have a good backup. We can't perform the backup for you, but the folders you should most certainly copy are:

For Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME-YOU-LOGON-WITH

For Windows Vista on up
C:\Users\USERNAME-YOU-LOGON-WITH

Some information that you may want to note about your laptop are things like the following:

  • Model Number
  • Serial Number
  • Date of Purchase
