Engineering Learning Community

Hands-on Hack-a-thon
February 8 -10

In collaboration with the HackKU Hack-a-thon, Engineering Learning Community members are invited to participate in HackKU, in a Hands-on Hack-a-thon.

What is the HackKU Hack-a-thon?
HackKU is an annual 36-hour hackathon at the University of Kansas, where students can have the opportunity to innovate new ideas, discover different paths, and push the boundaries of technology.

What is the Hands-on Hack-a-thon?
The Hands-on Hack-a-thon allows teams the flexibility and resources to combine hardware and software into their projects.  Teams will have the option to compete for prizes by entering their project in a special category of the expo where they will be judged on creativity, originality, and incorporation of a multi-disciplinary approach.

No Experience?  Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
ELC students will be mentored by the KU Robotics Organization throughout the event.  In collaboration with HackKU, IEEE, ACM, and SME, you will be provided workshops on what a hack-a-thon is, team formation, and crash courses in programming, computing hardware and circuits, 3-D modeling, and 3-D printing, all before events kick-off, so you will be ready to go.

You’ll also be provided with a variety of materials and access to a 3-D printer to use for your project.

Sign-up NOW!
After you sign-up as an ELC participant you will be directed to the HackKU registration site.  Please make sure to complete BOTH sign-ups.
