The Spring Engineering and Computer Science Career Fair will be from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, in the Kansas Union Ballroom. By early February, more than 70 employers had signed up to take part in the annual event.
The career fair is open to all students however those in engineering, computer science and other hard sciences will find this most valuable. Employers are hoping to identify students at all educational levels to fill full-time permanent positions and summer internships.
The career fair is a great opportunity for undergraduate students who've just begun their college careers to learn about internship opportunities and prospective employers.
Engineering Career Services Center is coordinating the event and encourages all students enrolled in the School of Engineering to attend. Dress is business attire. Students should prepare a resume in advance and should be ready with an "elevator speech" — a short 2-minute presentation about their qualities and strengths.
Staff members at Engineering Career Services, 1001 Eaton Hall, and the University Career Center have arranged several presentations and seminars to help students present themselves to employers at the career fair and throughout the spring semester. They include topics such as "Get Ready to Interview," "Get Your Resume Ready" and "How to Attend a Career Fair." Go to
