More than 60 employers are scheduled to recruit students at the Engineering and Computer Science Career Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the University of Kansas.
The career fair, which will be from noon to 5 p.m. on the 5th floor of the Kansas Union, is open to KU School of Engineering students at all levels of their academic career. As of mid September, 65 employers had requested space for the career fair, which represents a 20 percent increase in attendance over fall 2004.
Career fair coordinators expect more than 600 students will take part in the career fair. Those who attend will find leads for a variety of openings, including internships and full-time permanent positions for new graduates. Students will be able to learn more about opportunities with a variety of employers and make contact with representatives who influence the hiring process.
Students should bring multiple copies of their current resume and be prepared to discuss their skills, abilities and interests. Dress is business attire.
The Engineering Career Services Center, 1001 Eaton Hall, is able to help students prepare for the career fair through resume reviews, interview workshops and individual consultation.
