The University of Kansas School of Engineering is now taking registration for the SWE Weekend of Engineering on Feb. 3-5, 2006.
The weekend camp at KU is designed to give high school girls in 10th through 12th grade an opportunity to experience college life and learn about engineering careers and specific opportunities in the School of Engineering. The emphasis is on exploration, and members of the KU chapter of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) will be on hand to interact with the high school students.
Students will take part in team-building activities, as well as complete a project during their stay. They will have an opportunity to learn about the different engineering disciplines from KU faculty and talk with KU students about the difference between high school and college life. Participants will also attend a KU Women's Basketball game.
Cost is $75 per person and covers meals, lodging, materials, transportation at KU and game ticket. Camp size is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
