SELF Applications Must Be Postmarked By Jan. 15

Wednesday, January 2, 2008

Applications for the Self Engineering Leadership Fellows (SELF) Program at the KU School of Engineering are due this week. Prospective freshmen who want to be considered for the program should complete an application and ensure it is submitted in time for a Jan. 15 postmark.

The SELF Program is a four-year enrichment program paired with a generous financial package for engineering and computer science students who want to become leaders in business and industry.

Up to 20 students will be selected to make up the 2008 Class of SELF Fellows. The selection committee will look for evidence of problem-solving skills, perseverance, leadership, business and entrepreneurship and strong desire to improve in these areas. Test scores are not used as a basis for selecting the Fellows, although all students must be admissible to the KU School of Engineering.
