The application deadline for the Self Engineering Leadership Fellows Program is Jan. 15 for freshmen entering the KU School of Engineering in the fall 2010 academic year.
is designed to help goal-oriented students in engineering and computer science develop skills to become leaders in business, industry and entrepreneurship. The four-year program provides selected students with an enrichment program that stresses leadership, communications, community service, and other skills in business. These students also receive financial support over a four-year period provided they stay in good standing within the program.
Most students who’ve been admitted to a program in the KU School of Engineering will be eligible to apply for the SELF Program. While good grades are important, they aren’t the only consideration. Applicants must prepare an application packet, and top candidates will be invited to take part in interviews with School of Engineering faculty, administrators and alumni.
Prospective freshmen who haven’t yet applied for admission to KU, should
complete a KU application first
. Applicants must be admitted to a School of Engineering program by Jan. 15 to be considered for the SELF Program. While students who apply to KU after the Dec. 1 scholarship deadline will not be eligible for other scholarship support, they will still be considered for the SELF Program, provided they meet the Jan. 15 deadline.
