Fall Recognition Ceremony Moves to New Venue

Monday, November 14, 2011

The Recognition Ceremony for fall 2011 graduates of the University of Kansas School of Engineering will move to a new venue.  Students, their friends and family, as well as School of Engineering faculty and staff will gather at the Crafton-Preyer Theatre in Murphy Hall on Saturday, Dec. 10.  The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m.

Students who have applied to graduate must RSVP to attend the ceremony.  They may contact Charlotte Talley in the Dean’s Office, 785-864-3881, for complete instructions on where and when to report the day of the ceremony.

A reception for all fall graduates, their guests and faculty and staff will take place in Eaton Hall immediately after the ceremony.  Parking will be available in a variety of locations, however because of the KU Men’s Basketball game later in the day, there are some considerations. Download the event-day parking map .

  • Lot 33, east of the Engineering complex and north of Murphy Hall.
  • Lot 41, west of Learned Hall

Free Parking is available until 11:30 a.m. at:

  • Lot 54, south of the Engineering complex.

Paid, covered parking is available until 11:30 a.m. at:

  • The Fieldhouse Parking Garage.

The parking garage also offers accessible entries.

Both Murphy Hall and Eaton Hall have traffic pullouts to accommodate guests with mobility concerns.
