Resumes/CVs

The usual purpose of a resume is to obtain an interview; thus a well written resume can be a vital asset in the internship, co-op or job search.

Five steps to a well-written resume

  1. Read or review the resources on resume writing listed below (the first two links contain helpful steps for students writing their first college level resume)
  2. Compose an initial resume draft
  3. Have a Career Center staff member or career advisor review your resume
    1. Either schedule an Individual Appointment, which are available on a year round basis.
    2. Or attend one of the Resume Review walk-in sessions offered more frequently at the beginning of each semester and regularly every Wednesday between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. .
  4. Revise resume as appropriate
  5. Have your resume reviewed a second time (either by the Career Center or at least proofread for errors by a detail-oriented individual)
