Scholarships

Some students are awarded scholarships upon admission to the School of Engineering. These students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.4 and follow the suggested engineering curriculum in order to have the scholarships renewed each year.

Students not awarded scholarships as entering students may apply for engineering achievement scholarships after completing two semesters in the School of Engineering.

To be eligible to apply, a student must:

  • be enrolled for at least 15 hours per semester, and
  • have a cumulative grade point average of 3.4.

These scholarships range from $500 to $2,000 a year. Most engineering scholarships are merit-based. However, some funds have restrictions as to department, level, state residency, specific career interests, or financial need. A limited amount of money is available for international students. Also, to encourage engineering students to study abroad, students can apply for scholarship monies set aside to help with study abroad expenses.

Scholarship applications are available online. Any questions about engineering scholarships can be directed to the Scholarship Coordinator. Students needing other financial assistance should contact the Office of Student Financial Aid in Strong Hall.

Deadlines

All scholarship applications and renewals for continuing students are due March 15. Applications for Engineering Ambassadors are due the third Friday in April.

Scholarship amounts

Amounts vary depending on scholarship received. The awards range from $500 to $6,000 per academic year.
