Ten Engineering and Computer Science Faculty Members Receive Promotion and Tenure


Ten faculty members from the University of Kansas School of Engineering are among the 67 individuals from the KU Lawrence and Edwards campuses approved for promotion and tenure by Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little.

To full professor:

  • Erik Perrins, electrical engineering & computer science
  • James Sterbenz, electrical engineering & computer science


To associate professor:

  • Shawn Keshmiri, aerospace engineering
  • Sarah Kieweg, mechanical engineering
  • Bo Luo, electrical engineering & computer science
  • Xinmai Yang, mechanical engineering


Chancellor Gray-Little, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Jeffrey S. Vitter, who chairs the University Committee on Promotion and Tenure on the Lawrence campus, and Douglas Girod, M.D., executive vice chancellor at the University of Kansas Medical Center, issued a joint statement of congratulations:
