What else can I do while I am visiting campus?
If you are interested in collegiate sports, The University of Kansas men's and women's 33rd annual Late Night in the Phog occurs that evening at 5:00pm in historic Allen Fieldhouse. The event is free and open to the public. According to Kansas Athletics: "Beginning at 10 a.m., the Phog Festival will unfold on the lawn in front of Allen Fieldhouse and will feature a variety of activities for all fans to enjoy leading up to Late Night, including a Family Fun Zone, a mobile video board and a live DJ. The festival will also include food trucks, giveaways, interactive displays and much more throughout the day." it is also important to note that KU recently adopted a clear bag policy and walk-through metal detectors will be in effect for this event. For many out-of-town Jayhawk fans, Late Night will represent their first opportunity to tour The DeBruce Center, which houses the original rules of basketball written by Kansas' first coach, Dr. James Naismith. The DeBruce Center, which is adjacent to Allen Fieldhouse, opened last month.
