Engineering graduates take a moment to find friends and family in
the audience during the spring 2008 graduation ceremony.
Doctoral students are strongly encouraged to read the comprehensive examination and post-comprehensive examination enrollment requirements carefully. Information about these requirements is provided in the timelines above and on pages 20-21 of the Graduate Catalog.
Students are encouraged to talk to their departmental assistant whenever they are ready to complete a milestone in their graduate career.
Students should refer to KU’s Office of Graduate Studies’ instructions for thesis and dissertation format and submission requirements: Thesis & Dissertation Instructions. This office also maintains a calendar of deadlines and dates for submission of graduation materials each semester: Graduate Studies Calendar and Graduation Deadlines.
Students should consult the Graduate Division checklist to make sure that they have met all of the requirements outlined above.
The School hosts a Recognition Ceremony in the Fall and Spring semesters. The Fall ceremony is normally on the Saturday after Stop Day, and the Spring ceremony is normally the Sunday after Stop Day. Students will be invited to attend the ceremony in the semester in which they graduate. Summer graduates may attend either ceremony.
The University hosts a Commencement Ceremony in the Spring semester. All students who have graduated in that class (which includes Summer, Fall, and Spring graduates) are invited to attend the University’s formal ceremony, which normally takes place the Sunday after Stop Day in the Spring semester.
