Registration Opens for 2005 Evening With Industry

Employers have the opportunity to register now for the Society of Women Engineers' Evening with Industry at the University of Kansas. SWE Evening with Industry will be Tuesday, Sept. 20, in the Kansas Union Ballroom.

The event -- a social hour and formal dinner -- gives employers an opportunity to sit down and converse with students interested in their organization. Event organizers strive to attract women and minority engineering and computer science students to the occasion.

Last year, 43 employers representing 18 companies and more than 200 students took part in the event. The goal for 2005 is to increase student attendance to 300. Evening with Industry draws students from all academic levels and all engineering and computer science disciplines within the School of Engineering.

The event will take place on Sept. 20, the evening before the Engineering and Computer Science Career Fair. It begins with a 6 p.m. social hour where employers may mingle and speak with any student. Participants will then be seated for dinner at assigned tables that pair students with requested company representatives. Every effort is made to ensure students are seated at a table tied to their professional interests and pursuits.
