SELF on the Road - Seattle - Day 1

Saturday, August 11, 2018

The day for many started at 3 AM, with some entering the terminal with apprehension due to the unfortunate airline incident that occurred the previous day in Seattle. Some were hesitant to get on the plane and nervous for part of the ride. Quinton Jones was not one of these people.

By 9 AM, The Maxwell Hotel was ready to greet us with warmth and pineapples, in that order. As we journeyed far to find a place to eat, we explored the landscapes of Seattle and saw the beauty the city held as the day began.

By 12 PM, our group took the monorail and ferry to Bainbridge Island (reenacting scenes from Titanic) where we spent time interacting with and watching how local businesses thrive in the lively city of Seattle.

The day helped strengthen the bonds of members from the original cohort and create new ones with the newest members. The first day on this trip was used to promote collaboration and team bonding between all members of SELF and showed us all the best parts of our cohort.
