What is the focus of your research as part of the Undergraduate Research Fellows Program?

My research focuses on extracting active intracellular enzymes from soil with varying characteristics to be used for complex proteomics applications.

What is your favorite part of the Undergraduate Research Fellows program?

I like that the fact that it is a cohort of undergraduates conducting and passionate about research in fields belonging to several engineering majors. This has helped me in understanding other "cool new things" across several subjects and interact with other fellows to aid my interdisciplinary interests.

What are your future academic and professional plans?

I plan on continuing my education and get into a graduate program that'll help me fulfill my research and academic interests. Further down the line, I plan on getting a research position at a lab that serves the environment through engineering.
