Warren Corman

Warren Corman of Lawrence is university architect and special assistant to the chancellor at KU. He is a 1950 KU architectural engineering graduate.

Corman has had a major impact on the learning environment encountered by the state's college students. In 1966 he was recruited by the Kansas Board of Regents to be director of facilities, a position he held for 31 years. During his tenure he worked with all the regents institutions, overseeing planning and construction on more than 300 construction projects, valued at more than $500 million.

Corman also was instrumental in two public policy actions that continue to serve Kansans: the State Building Advisory Committee, which greatly reduced the opportunity for corruption, and Crumbling Classrooms, widely recognized as the single most important facilities repair-and-rehabilitation funding project in regents history. Upon retiring from the regents post in 1997 Corman was hired as university architect and special assistant to the chancellor at KU. Corman has been integral to the completion of numerous construction projects, including the Memorial Stadium renovation, the Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics and the School of Engineering's own Eaton Hall.
