Office of Graduate Studies enrollment dates.

Please check with the Graduate Division of your professional school or the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences for the last date to schedule a master’s final exam, a doctoral oral comprehensive exam, or a final doctoral oral exam for each semester or term. The deadlines below represent the final university deadlines and are subject to change. Professional schools or the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences may set earlier deadlines. Students are advised to consult with the appropriate school or College to confirm all deadlines. The academic calendar contains all the necessary dates.

Additional Information

  1. A student who was enrolled the previous semester and submits all degree requirements by this date will have the degree conferred for this semester but is not required to enroll for this semester.

  2. Candidates for Spring and Summer degrees only: Meeting this deadline will ensure the candidate is included on the mailing list for information about the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony and will ensure the student’s name is included in the event program for the Ceremony.

  3. This is the last day to submit ALL requirements for a degree to be conferred that semester. University degree requirements include:
    1. Electronic filing of thesis or dissertation (if applicable)
    2. Submission of paperwork to the Graduate Division of the appropriate professional school or the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences
    3. Submission of the Application for Graduation in Enroll & Pay.

    Students should consult with their professional school or the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences for additional degree requirements.

  4. All students who graduate during the 2020-2021 academic year (Summer and Fall 2020 or Spring 2021) are invited to attend the May 2021 Doctoral Hooding Ceremony. The Dean of Graduate Studies may invite Summer 2021 degree candidates to participate by special exception. Please visit Doctoral Hooding Ceremony for more information.
