What is the focus of your research as part of the Undergraduate Research Fellows Program?
NIR Imagery based Wildfire Tracking from Quadcopter UAS
What is your favorite part of the Undergraduate Research Fellows program?
My favorite part of the Undergraduate Research Fellows is getting to connect with other undergraduate researchers. All of us have experience in many different fields and are working on incredibly interesting projects. I am able to get invaluable advice about how the research side of academia works, such as research conferences, proposals, and presentations.
What are your future academic and professional plans?
For now, I am focused on completing my undergraduate studies, but I am very passionate about my discipline and have a great interest in pursuing the research side of aerospace, so I could see myself pursuing grad school. Professionally, I have the most experience in the Guidance, Navigation, and Control of aircraft, and I would like to apply that knowledge towards the defense industry by working for the Air Force or closely related branches.
