Biography —
What is the focus of your research as part of the Undergraduate Research Fellows Program?
The focus of my research is to study and build the knowledge needed to transition from fossil fuel derived feedstocks to biomass derived feedstocks for industrial purposes. Our group specifically focuses on catalysis and the use of these in the conversion of biomass derived monomers to potential monomers for industrial purposes.
What is your favorite part of the Undergraduate Research Fellows program?
My favorite part of the UGRF program is the ability to learn from fellow researchers and their experiences in their field. I really enjoy learning about the wide variety of topics that other people work on in their research.
What are your future academic and professional plans?
Once I finish my degree in Chemical Engineering, I would like to start my professional career as an R&D engineer in a company that truly values the transition to a greener future. My goal is to improve the world we live in and make sure that future generations are left with the best available. Eventually, I would like to complete my master's or PhD in a field related to chemical engineering and environmental studies.
