Biography

Renee is a Senior Project Engineering in the Project Delivery Group at Missouri American Water. She joined the company in August 2017. Prior to returning to her hometown in St. Louis County she served at DC Water as the first woman Manager of Maintenance Operations responsible for a team of Electricians, Mechanics, and Instrumentation Technicians responsible for maintaining the water, sewer, combined sewer and stormwater pump stations, structures, odor control and water storage facilities located throughout the DC area. While living in Durham, North Carolina she served as the first woman and African American Division Superintendent and ORC (Operator in Responsible Charge) for the City’s two Water Treatment Plants and also served in the Engineering Division overseeing water and wastewater projects for plant and distribution/collection system infrastructure. Before relocating to North Carolina she served as the very first SCADA Controls Engineer for the City of Kansas City, MO Water Department. She is an Electrical Engineer by degree but found a passion in the water industry and environmental stewardship.

Fun facts: 1) While in North Carolina, as a stress relief job in the evenings and on weekends she served as an Emergency Medical Technician for 7 years for a community in Wake County. 2) In the movie National Treasures, one of the DC Water structures maintained by her team served as a scene backdrop.
