Biography —
Leroy is a native of Kansas City, Missouri and currently resides in McKinney, TX with his wife, Genena. They are a blended family with three (3) children. Leroy is Lead Servant for Proclaiming the Word Ministries. Proclaiming the Word Ministries (PtWM) offers Walk Thru the Bible Live Event Seminars to churches, schools, and ministries. PtWM equips proclaimers of God’s Word through conferences/seminars & coaching consultations. PtWM also sponsors an annual Israel in HD: Holy Land Pilgrimage. Leroy served six years as Teaching Pastor at First Baptist Church in McKinney, TX. Leroy previously served as Senior Pastor of The House of Hope Church in Cedar Hill, TX for three years. This church plant impacted the Cedar Hill community and beyond by balancing six biblical purposes (prayer, evangelism, worship, fellowship, discipleship & ministry). Prior to this, Leroy served ten years as senior pastor of two churches. He served St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, TX for four years. Leroy served Greater Good Hope Baptist Church in Louisville, KY for six years. During his tenure, the church doubled in attendance and built a new 17,000 sq. ft. ministry center. Prior to Greater Good Hope, he served as Executive Pastor of Christian Education at Concord Church in Dallas, TX under the late Dr. E. K. Bailey.
Leroy is a graduate of the University of Kansas (B.S.) and Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M.). Leroy is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in preaching at South African Theological Seminary. Leroy also completed post-graduate studies in preaching at Oxford University (Regents Park College). He is a licensed and ordained minister of the gospel. Leroy has impacted 5,000+ proclaimers worldwide through his ministry travels. He has lectured and taught on preaching at the Kenya PROCLAIM Pastors Conference, E. K. Bailey Preaching Conference, Simmons College of Kentucky, Crossroads Bible College, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, The Virginia Baptist State Convention Pastor's Conference, Truett Seminary Preaching Conference, and the Stephen Olford Center for Biblical Preaching, among others. Leroy has been a guest speaker at the National Pastors Convention, National Conference on Preaching, International Congress on Preaching, Mighty Men of Valor National Men’s Conference & numerous other conferences. He has also lectured for the National Baptist Convention, USA. Leroy has been a chapel speaker for the Tennessee Titans Professional Football team. Leroy has also consulted with churches and non-profit organizations on church health, the use of technology in the local church & leadership development. He has ministered throughout the US, in the UK (Cambridge & Oxford), in Africa (Kenya, Chad, & Zambia), and Guyana. Leroy served on the board of Crossroads Bible College from 2006-2010. Leroy served a term as Moderator of the Collin Baptist Association from 2019-2020. Leroy currently serves on the Board of Directors for the McKinney Chamber of Commerce, 3e United and on the Community Advisory Council for the McKinney Police Chief.
Leroy’s first solo book released in 2021 is entitled Disruption: Resetting Your Life’s Purpose. Leroy has written for Leadership Journal and is a contributing devotional writer for the African American Devotional Bible from Zondervan. Leroy is a contributing author to the book entitled Leading Your Church through Conflict & Reconciliation. Leroy served five (5) years as Conference Director of the E. K. Bailey Preaching Conference. Leroy owns a marketplace business which offers a comprehensive digital marketing platform to small and medium sized businesses. His business
