Antoine Lawrence

Antoine Lawrence hails from East Saint Louis, IL and was a guitarist in the famed International Lincoln High School Jazz Band. As a Minority Engineering Program Scholar, he participated in the SCoRMEBE Early Entry Program in the Summer of 1983 at the University of Kansas School of Engineering. Through perseverance, his Christian faith and the help of his fellow minority engineering students, Antoine graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1988 and later a M.S. in 1998. Throughout his undergraduate years, Antoine continued to pursue his love of music by winning positions in the KU Jazz Band Lab 1 & 2 and by playing with various local bands around Lawrence, KS. Similarly, today he works full time as a Senior Server Automation Engineer and performs regularly as a professional musician in the Kansas City area and most Sundays at church.
