What is the focus of your research as part of the Undergraduate Research Fellows Program?

The impact of historical housing policy on the severity of urban flooding experienced by marginalized groups.

What is your favorite part of the Undergraduate Research Fellows program?

Being able to learn about all the different research being conducted at KU. The diversity in projects is incredible, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to get to know students with interests very different than my own!

What are your future academic and professional plans?

I plan to go into industry and work to build equitable and sustainable infrastructure that will help remediate the historical inequity in public infrastructure spending. I hope to be able to be a part of projects that have real impact, such as building community garden spaces in food desserts, parks in urban centers, and streetcars to connect communities.
